Youth Artists Reception

an evening to celebrate and uplift Durham's youth artists

After contributing to the Hayti Heritage Center's Juneteenth Youth Artist Exhibition, DurmPAC wanted to create a secondary event that brought the artists into the spotlight along with their artwork.

We invited the featured artists to continue exhibiting their work at Bright Black Candle while we planned an event to celebrate their successes elevate their voices. The second exhibition period ended with a Youth Artist Reception, where the featured artists shared their inspirations, process, and thoughts around art. After a question & answer session, DurmPAC members lead attendees through zine making activites.
